How to set-up your new MacBook Pro out of the box

Learn how to set-up your new Macbook computer for the first time to comply with LiNK Health Group IT requirements.

  1. With your power cord connected, please press the power button to switch on your new MacBook Pro computer.
  2. From the list, choose your language options.
  3. Next, select your country.
  4. Choose your accessibility options and click continue.
  5. Select your WiFi network and enter your password. Click continue.
  6. Read the data and privacy information provided by Apple and then click continue.
  7. As you are a new user, on the Migration Assistant screen choose "not now" as there are no files to migrate from another device for you.
  8. Sign in with your managed Apple ID as provided through Apple Business Manager by Link Health Group.
  9. Read and agree to the Apple terms and conditions.
  10. Enter your full name and also create an account name.
  11. Create a password as well as a password hint. Click continue. Please note that you must enter a password.
  12. The express settings page appears. Choose customise settings (the following are all depending on current organisation policy)
    1. Click Enable Locations services and then click continue
    2. Untick share analytics and then click continue
    3. Choose your screen time options and click continue
    4. Do not use Siri and click continue
    5. Choose whether you want to use touch ID and click continue
    6. Select how you would like your Mac to look e.g light, dark or auto and click continue
    7. Leave true tone display enabled and click continue
  13. You will now see a message that says ‘setting up your Mac’.
  14. Once this is complete your MacBook Pro is ready to use.
